Profile of the X.gimnazija Ivan Supek High School

The X. gimnazija Ivan Supek High School (“The tenth grammar school Ivan Supek) is a public high school located in the city of Zagreb, Croatia. It is a four-year high school which was founded in 1961. It offers two academic programmes to its students; the science and math, as well as a general gymnasium programme, preparing students for tertiary education. The curriculum of both departments enables students’ to enroll in various universities. There are 41 classes of which 8 are bilingual. It is the largest gymnasium in Croatia with 1084 students and 108 employees, of which 86 are teachers, 4 are professional associates (a pedagogue, a psychologist, and two librarians), and 18 are non-teaching staff.

The school has specialised classrooms for languages, ICT, history, biology, music, art, geography, gyms and a library. We also have well equipped laboratories for physics and chemistry.

We aspire to be a school tailored to meet the needs of our students where our students not only gain knowledge but also develop their talents, moral values and fulfill their interests and ambitions. We organise various workshops for students and teachers with the aim of promoting creativity. Certain indicators of our success are our current and former students who confirm that all our efforts have been justified, thus motivating us to continue.
